Karen Burja
Veterinary Technician
As a small child, Karen Bujra helped with her family farm, raising chickens, rabbits, and cattle. She was also able to save a young pigeon that was being kicked in the road by middle school children and helped an injured dove regain flight. She learned how one person can really make a difference.
Born and Raised in San Antonio, Karen Burja moved to Devine Texas in 1996 where she finished her Sophomore and Senior years at Devine High school. Graduating in 1999 she met Dr. Tisha Broach at Jan Wilkerso’s home in Devine when Dr. Broach and Melissa came to Jan’s home to treat her dogs. During the visit, while Karen helped with the dogs, she asked about a ringworm treatment for her cats and set up an appointment for her cats with ringworm. The very next week during Karen’s appointment she filled out an application for employment at the Lytle Vet CLinic. After the new year, Karen was highered for a Kennel Technician job and worked everyday for the next 3 years in order to be able to help with surgeries and radiographs. To this day, she still works at the Lytle Vet clinic helping any way she can.
The primary values that drive Karen in her day to day life are her spiritual connection with God and following the path that has been set for her for the illumination of truth and the lessons along the way.
